Sewage is biodegradable because it contains organic matter that can be broken down by microorganisms. Plastic is generally not biodegradable as it takes a very long time to break down naturally. Polythene is a type of plastic and is therefore not easily biodegradable. DDT is a persistent pesticide known for its resistance to natural breakdown.
