Explanation

Proteins are classified as simple or conjugated based on their composition. Conjugated proteins contain a non-protein part called a prosthetic group. Nucleoproteins (protein + nucleic acid) and glycoproteins (protein + carbohydrate) both have these additional components, making them conjugated proteins.
