Sir Francis Galton is widely credited with significant work on fingerprints. HM Smith did not establish the concept of fingerprints in this context. Marcelo Malpighi was an anatomist known for microscopic studies, but not specifically for fingerprinting. Dr Nehemiah is not recognized as the primary father of fingerprints.
