Explanation

Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) are historically and scientifically recognized as the primary culprits for ozone layer depletion. Carbon Dioxide is a greenhouse gas but not the main culprit for ozone damage. Nitrous Oxide can contribute to ozone depletion but CFCs are considered the most important historical/primary culprit. Carbon Monoxide does not significantly deplete the ozone layer.
