Explanation

The Programme recognizes population and housing censuses as a key primary source of disaggregated data needed for formulating, implementing, and monitoring policies and programmes aimed at achieving inclusive socioeconomic development and environmental sustainability. It further recognizes the centrality of censuses in population data systems for generating rich, granular, and timely data necessary for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
