Explanation

He was sworn in on 17 February 2026 following his party’s landslide victory in the 2026 parliamentary election and formally took up the office as the 11th Prime Minister of Bangladesh. The oath-taking ceremony took place at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban (the national parliament building) and was administered by President Mohammed Shahabuddin .
