Explanation

Ali Zaman , a 54-year-old former Iraqi goldsmith, completed the world’s largest handwritten Quran in October 2025 after six years of work in Istanbul. The manuscript features 302 double-sided scrolls , with individual pages measuring 4 meters long and 1.5 meters wide . It was crafted using traditional reed pens and the classical thuluth script on specialized handmade parchment. The project was entirely self-funded and performed without modern tools at the Mihrimah Sultan Mosque complex.
