Explanation

On 28 January 2026 , the Pakistan Navy formally took over command of Combined Task Force (CTF) 150 , a multinational naval coalition dedicated to counter-terrorism and maritime security operations in the Indian Ocean region . CTF 150 was formed in February 2002 and operates as one of the five task forces under the umbrella of the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) . The task force is responsible for carrying out maritime security missions beyond the Arabian Gulf , primarily targeting threats posed by non-state actors at sea.
