President of AJK. He was born on 9 August 1955 in Chichian, Mirpur, Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK). He served as Prime Minister of Azad Jammu & Kashmir from 1996 to 2001 . Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry was elected President of Azad Jammu & Kashmir in August 2021 . At the time of his death on 31 January 2026 , he was serving as the President of AJK . He died at the age of 71 after a prolonged illness in Islamabad.
