Explanation

The Poona Pact of September 1932 was an agreement between Mahatma Gandhi and B.R. Ambedkar providing for increased seat reservations for the depressed classes (now known as Dalits or Scheduled Castes) within the general Hindu electorate, rather than separate electorates.
