Explanation

This recognition came with the signing of the Lucknow Pact (1916). The pact was an agreement between the Indian National Congress and the All-India Muslim League. For the first time, Congress accepted the Muslim League as the sole representative of Indian Muslims. The agreement supported the idea of separate electorates for Muslims, safeguarding Muslim political rights. Leaders like Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah played a key role, earning him the title “Ambassador of Hindu-Muslim Unity.”
