Explanation

For an endothermic reaction in an adiabatic reactor, the temperature drops as the reaction proceeds. The rate of heat generation is related to the reaction rate and enthalpy change, which is highest where the concentration difference (and thus reaction rate) is greatest, typically at the inlet.
